Everybody loves a good mystery -- but most don't get the chance to actually solve one! With interactive mysteries, amateur sleuths can actually try their detecting skills and match wits to discover "whodunit." After witnessing dastardly deeds, searching for clues, and personally interrogating suspects, they offer their solution to the crime(s)! We've been presenting interactive comedy-mysteries since 1985 and have made our scripts and production packages available to other groups for 10 years. One reason for our success is that our shows are as much comedy as mystery. They are light-hearted, farcical and "PG." They do not deal with realistic, controversial themes or situations.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A MOUSHEY MYSTERY?

Mysteries by Moushey are a combination of theatre, game, and party. The following describes a typical show, although certain scripts will vary from this basic outline. Also, there are several scripts which have multiple endings, where the audience "votes" for the guilty party and that solution scene is played.

PRELUDE TO MURDER

The evening begins as the audience enters. Actors, in character, will circulate, establish relationships, and stage confrontational scenes -- all of which "set up" the mystery that will unfold.

THE DASTARDLY DEED

The next section of the event is basically a one-act play that takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour (depending on script). Characters are further developed, clues dropped, and a crime (or two or three!) occurs!

THE CLUE HUNT

This part of the event is most adaptable. The search for physical evidence can be as simple as distributing clues to tables or as involved as a madcap search of the premises, or anything in between! (NOTE: Not every Moushey Mystery includes a clue hunt.)

THE SOLUTION SCENE

Once all clues are discovered, the audience sleuths offer their solutions to the crime. Then, a solution scene is played (usually including a surprise or two!) The cast is introduced, winners announced, and prizes awarded.
